SANTA PAULA, California — November 5, 2026. Voters in two separate Santa Paula City Council districts made selections on the November 3 general-election ballot. The available Ventura County vote snapshot shows Jenny Crosswhite ahead of Jenny Yarbrough in District 2, while Merisa Garcia leads a four-person contest in District 4. The two seats represent different neighborhoods, and neither result is yet certified.
District 2: two candidates, 200 votes apart
The Ventura County results displayed by NBC Los Angeles list Crosswhite with 814 votes (57.00%) and Yarbrough with 614 (43.00%). These figures represent 1,428 valid votes in this specific District 2 race. The 200-vote difference is meaningful in the district’s current counting stage but is not evidence that every valid district ballot has been reviewed.
District 4: several candidates remain relatively close
The District 4 ballot lists Merisa Garcia 185 votes (31.84%), Nancy Grass 142 (24.44%), John Marquez 139 (23.92%) and Angel Garza 115 (19.79%). Garcia’s reported lead over Grass is 43 votes, and Grass is just three votes ahead of Marquez. The election-night data set contains only 581 reported candidate votes for this district; the figure should not be misrepresented as the total number of ballots cast across the city of Santa Paula.
Separate school district funding question
Santa Paula Unified School District’s Measure C has 2,912 Yes votes (58.27%) and 2,085 No (41.73%) in the same results feed. The legal approval threshold and exact proposal must be checked in the district’s official ballot text before any declaration that a measure passed. The school-district boundary need not match the city’s council districts, and its votes cannot be added to the council tally.
What these offices decide
City council members help set local land-use, infrastructure and municipal budget policy. Families and local businesses are directly affected by questions such as road maintenance, recreation, housing development and public facilities. School-board taxes and council elections, however, authorize different types of decisions and operate under different legal rules.
Future count and verification
Ventura County election officials must complete the canvass before final results can be recorded. California’s mailed-ballot arrival and signature-verification rules mean the posted November 4 figures may change in later releases. Readers can compare the current Ventura County official report with these dated preliminary numbers. No candidate or measure has been independently declared certified here.
